Scope of Practice

A health coach provides clients with science-based information, positive encouragement, and continued motivation. A health coach works in client-centered process to facilitate and empower the client to achieve self-determined goals, and provides expert guidance in the areas they hold credentials. A health coach assists clients to use their insight, strengths, resources, goal setting, acting steps, and accountability toward healthy lifestyle change.

A health coach provides clients with:
-Education
-Motivation
-Encouragement
-Support and guidance, so that clients are empowered to make their own informed choices, that are in line with any advice they have received from medical professionals

A health coach does NOT:
-Diagnose physical or psychological conditions
-Provide treatment for medical conditions
-Prescribe medication or supplements
-Tell clients what to do
