Our Story
How it started
Before Courtney Klein gave birth to her son in 2019, she discovered an important gap in resources. While there was plenty of information on parenting and caring for babies, finding reliable guidance on navigating pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum experience was challenging.
Courtney dove deep into researching everything from pregnancy-safe foods and ideal clothing to things that should be avoided. After extensive research and her own experiences as a new mother, Courtney wanted to offer a thoughtfully curated selection of pregnancy-safe products. And thus, in 2020, Birth Order was born.
Since then, the online shop has become the go-to destination for pregnancy and postpartum gifting. Each product is selected to assist new mothers at every stage of their journey, ensuring they have access to high-quality, safe products for their comfort and recovery.
The journey continues
Balu Belz discovered Birth Order after giving birth to her son in 2022 and felt goosebumps reading the founding story. Realizing that their journeys and interests were almost identical, Balu knew Courtney had created exactly the kind of business she'd been longing to start.
In 2024, Courtney announced that she was ready to step away from the business to focus on other interests, and Balu took over as the new owner. Today, Balu manages the business's operations while Courtney continues to support in an advisory capacity.
